How It All Started

We are a team of Euroculture students, Mariami, Mikihiro and Ilya. As part of our Project Management course at the University of Göttingen, our team set out to create something both creative and meaningful: a bilingual (Arabic–German) children’s book.

Our idea was to support 5–10-year-old children, especially those with refugee or migrant backgrounds, by designing a story that could ease their cultural and linguistic transition while sparking joy and imagination.

The Brothers Grimm, who once taught at the University of Göttingen, inspired us. We chose to adapt one of their tales and bring it to life in a new way. To make this possible, we commissioned a wonderful Georgian artist, Ninutsa Narmania, who helped us turn our vision into vivid and beautiful illustrations.

The Impact & The Future

We hope it will encourage children to explore language, enjoy storytelling, and feel supported in times of transition.

Looking ahead, we imagine expanding this project:

Translating the story into more languages
Distributing it widely to schools, libraries, and refugee centers
Making it freely available online for children and families everywhere
